On June 22, the cozy ambiance of the Wood&Fire lounge was filled with excitement and anticipation as it hosted the Second Open Championship of Belarus, a key qualifying stage for the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC). This prestigious event drew notable competitors, including several members of the CSWC's Top 20 rankings, ensuring a high level of competition and skill.
The tournament was overseen by Dmitry Nokhrin, an official judge and esteemed member of the Epicure Cigar Club. Nokhrin's expertise guaranteed that the championship was conducted with the utmost professionalism. However, the highlight of the event was the participation of two-time world champion Oleg Pedan. After a hiatus from competitive cigar smoking, Pedan returned to the sport and delivered a remarkable performance despite incurring a 15-minute penalty for slightly burning the cigar band. His final time of 03:25:09 was not only the best of the tournament but also the top time of the entire 2024 season.

The competition was fierce, with five athletes earning spots in the Top 20 of the 2024 season. Among the Belarusians, Alexander Gavrilenko achieved an impressive seventh place, marking him as the top performer from the host country.
The champions were honored with luxury gifts from prestigious sponsors including Rocky Patel, Les Fines Lames, Boveda, and Cuervo y Sobrinos. These prizes underscored the event's high status and the achievements of its top competitors.
