My name Is Ferdinand Piet and I am the owner and founder of Ministryofcigars.com. The first cigar I smoked was a Cohiba Siglo IV on vacation in Indonesia. On the way back, I maxed my credit card at the duty-free cigar shop in Changi Airport, Singapore. Never looked back. I started blogging reviews not too long after that. Since then I have worked as a cigar sales representative in my native The Netherlands. After moving to South East Asia, I started ministryofcigars.com to fill the gap for international cigar news.
My personal preference when it comes to cigars lays in Nicaragua. I love the variety in the different regions, the strength, and the flavor that comes from Nicaraguan tobacco. I’m not disqualifying other countries, like Honduras, Cuba, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic all produce great cigars too. But Nicaraguan tobacco fits my palate best if used correctly. I call many of the cigar manufacturers friends and have been in Esteli, Nicaragua several times.
And now I am part of the CSWC Jury. I look forward to traveling South East Asia for CSWC and to meet many cigar smokers in the region. My experience with CSWC is the Kuala Lumpur pre-qualifier in 2019, where I reached the 4th spot.
