Montenegro Ignites: Slow Smoke, Intense Competition – CSWC 2023 Montenegro Returns with Flair

The exhilarating world of competitive slow smoking recently ignited once again as the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC) returned to Montenegro. The event, organized by the esteemed Casa de Puros, the first and only private cigar club in Montenegro, proved to be a celebration of expertise and camaraderie among cigar aficionados.

Owned by the passionate Aleksandar Djuretic, who also serves as an official CSWC judge, and managed by the great Milica Popovic, Casa de Puros set the beautiful stage for a captivating contest.

In a nail-biting showdown, the Montenegro Champion of 2023 emerged – Konstantin Pavlon, a true maestro of the art of slow smoking. Pavlon's mastery shone through as he clinched victory by a mere few seconds, narrowly surpassing the exceptional performance of Nikola Maksan, who secured a commendable second place. Among the ranks of skilled competitors, a notable newcomer, Udo Beker, claimed the third position, a well-deserved recognition of his talents.

The judging panel, spearheaded by the knowledgeable Aleksandar Djuretic and guided by Milica Popovic, faced a challenging task. Their role required them to make precise assessments of the competitors' techniques and adherence to the rules. The competition wasn't without its dramatic moments, particularly when Udo Beker faced the setback of a burned ring, resulting in a penalty that affected his position in the rankings.

The revival of the CSWC in Montenegro not only showcased the prowess of these dedicated cigar enthusiasts but also highlighted the cultural significance of slow smoking. Beyond being a competition, it's a celebration of the art, patience, and refined taste that come with enjoying a fine cigar.

As the smoke cleared and the winners were celebrated, the event demonstrated that the passion for cigars and the elegance of slow smoking continue to thrive. The Casa de Puros team, led by Aleksandar Djuretic and Milica Popovic, succeeded in creating an great event. Montenegro's CSWC 2023 reminded us all that in the world of cigars, the journey is just as important as the destination – a sentiment best savored slowly.
