It was the perfect showdown proving that CSWC is a true sport—not always predictable, and always featuring new names in the fight for the throne.

In Denmark, CSWC legend—in organization terms—Mr. Jesper Petersen organized again a fabulous final event of the Danish competition. Of course, Nick Shwanley, the unbeaten champion of recent years, was the favorite again, but his time scenario was different this time. A full lounge of competitors brought a fierce battle, and the results are a testament to that.
Impressively, more than 10 top times were all above one hour. Then, of course, the big fight started for first place, as well as for the third. Julien Daubanes and Chris Kirk-Blythe entered the fiercest photo finish of the slow-smoking race for third place. In that stage, where every puff counts, Julien took the victory by just a one-minute difference.
With equal drama and surprise, the battle for first place heated up above the two-hour mark between Nick and Mads Groth Olsen. It seemed unbelievable that anyone would shatter expectations and take a fifth title away from Nick, but Mads Groth Olsen managed to do just that, dashing Nick's dreams of an anniversary title with a margin of more than three minutes.
