HISTORICAL CSWC BY OLIVA CIGARS TOOK PLACE AT MAURITIUS

CSWC by Oliva cigars has reached a historic milestone by strengthening its footprint in the Southwestern Indian Ocean.

Following three editions on Reunion Island, Mauritius has now also vibrated to the rhythm of this international slow-smoking competition, gathering passionate aficionados and hedonists around a challenge of precision, self-control, and mechanical resilience.

Directly after, the CSWC headed to Mauritius, confirming the franchise's expansion momentum in the region. The event was driven by Corita Cigars as organizer and co-sponsor, alongside FleminGO, the local Oliva importer. The Mauritian tournament attracted a discerning profile of participants, well-accustomed to the standards of luxury and high-end hospitality. Set in a cozy yet electric atmosphere, the competition delivered a top-tier spectacle despite challenging weather conditions and ambient humidity that proved difficult to regulate. For this inaugural edition, new personal bests were established under the watchful eye of judge Jerome Fontaine-Monetti, ensuring strict compliance with international rules.

Racing against the clock, 13 local competitors had to deploy serious technical skill to keep their cigars lit for as long as possible, never faltering in the face of stress or air drafts. The discipline demands absolute concentration: every puff is calculated, and every movement is measured to preserve a perfect ash. The excitement generated bears witness to the deep rooting of premium cigar culture on the island, and the discovery of this competition sparked incredible enthusiasm throughout the day.

These historic results—marking the first-ever edition organized in Mauritius—crowned Georges Bolbach with a time of 1h 11m 28s (including one 3-minute penalty), followed closely by Jean-Yves Duclos at 1h 11m 01s (including one 1-minute penalty), with Bruno Martins completing the podium at 1h 03m 01s (including one 1-minute penalty). Given the enthusiasm generated, there is no doubt that the CSWC is here to stay in Mauritius.

By linking Reunion Island and Mauritius, this double fixture permanently places the Indian Ocean on the global cigar map. Beyond the technical performance and the relentless verdict of the stopwatch, these qualifiers above all celebrated a brotherhood of passionate aficionados. The CSWC has proven to be the perfect vehicle to unite economic players, enthusiast clubs, and lovers of exceptional spirits and cigars around an event of international prestige.
